Trump 18: The Moon
I'm one of those people who sincerely believe that the world of dreaming is an important and revealing part of life. Dreams can help us process changes in our daily lives, give us ideas to help solve problems, and even give us insight into the future. The Moon Tarot card is like a dream. You know how some dreams are fragmented and confusing, even scary or downright terrifying?
Trump 18, the Moon, is about being confused, unable to see the truth because you are acting out of fear, it's a card that often shows mistakes being made because you are afraid and want to move as quickly as possible. Rushing through the dark isn't always a good idea. When fear takes over and panic sets in, you end up getting lost, being unable to see the truth, and may even trip on those things that are hidden under the veil of darkness. Have you ever noticed how you can look different in different mirrors? The Moon card shows a scene taking place at night. A body of water reflects some of the scene. Imagine walking through the card. If you were scared, could you tell which was the real landscape and which was only a reflection?
The fear and confusion isn't the only aspect of Trump 18, however. Sometimes, this card shows those madmen ( and women! ) who live their lives in darkness, painting great masterpieces, writing novels and poems that literally change our lives, those geniuses that, while being outside social norms, create works that are nothing short of brilliant. Some people embrace the darkness, some people are terrified of what happens under the cover of night, and a rare few are able to simply navigate through using the light of the moon and their own intuition without becoming enchanted or horrified by the Moon's light. Understanding the card in your own readings often means being able to distinguish your own feelings about the question you ask. But when the moon shows up, doing so can be a challenge.
